  6. Hi diddly dee, it's 11.23!!!!

  8. (13/9/93) The closing stages of 'Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy' 
  9. on  Radio 4,  half-way up a Welsh Hillside surrounded by  assorted 
  10. Atari  'Computery'  bits and piles of disks and oh,  we're on  the 
  11. end music for 'Hitch-Hikers' already....
  12.  
  13. A little explanationette?? I am presently staying at the residence 
  14. of one 'Pele very-helpful-with-the-falcon-version-of-maggie-with-
  15. odd-cats!!!  Still  he has been extremely helpful in  compiling  and 
  16. Falcon-fixing this issue, so I won't complain... Thanx mate!!!

  18. His  house  is very fascinating,  it takes the theme  of  'Country 
  19. Cottage'  almost  to it's logical extension of being made  out  of 
  20. sweets and chocolate as per the old Grimm Fairy tale... It is also 
  21. at  the end of a very twisty and steep gravel track,  which my car 
  22. had  great  fun  with..  It got stuck halfway  down,  persistently 
  23. refusing to work today...

  25. It follows my first greetings are wholeheartedly reserved for GESA 
  26. ASSISTANCE/AVON  ROADRESCUE for the amazingly quick response  time 
  27. to my call,  and the rapid (two minutes, thirty seconds approx) to 
  28. get  the  car going again...  The problem was due to 'dampness'  - 
  29. more  like 24 solid hours of torrential rain whilst it was  parked 
  30. on  an exposed hillside..  Who can blame a perfectly innocent  car 
  31. for   lying  down  and  refusing  to  get  up  again   under   the 
  32. circumstances eh!!!!

  34. Believe it or not, I am also on holiday this week, so I don't know 
  35. why  the palm-frond waving beautiful maidens on a  tropical  beach 
  36. have not arrived,  the wrong slip of a delivery note and there you 
  37. are I suppose...

  40. Lemmings assistance....

  51.                  'Ding Dong the Amiga Club is Dead!!!!'

  53. Wellingboro', Dateline Friday 10th September.... At a particularly 
  54. packed  and successful Atari club,  it is announced that a new  PC 
  55. club  is  to fill the vacant slot left by  the  recently  departed 
  56. Amiga  club...  Only the Amiga club haven't been told yet!!!  (Tee 
  57. Hee!)

  61. There is more Falcon stuff than ever before in this issue, some of 
  62. it kindly donated by the Falcon Owners Group,  (F.O.G.) especially 
  63. details  of where to find them and how to join up...  The majority 
  64. of  interesting stuff on this disk is also Falcon only,  which  is 
  65. unfortunate for a lot of ST owners...  Sorry about that folks, but 
  66. I  cannot  put  thin  air on to a disk,  which is  what  has  been 
  67. forthcoming  for the ST lately...  If people are still out  there, 
  68. then the moral is... Get in touch and let us know about it..

  72. Pele  here  ....  this issue is just about ready to  be  released. 
  73. Chris  is listening to 50Khz modules on the Falcon through a  pair 
  74. of earphones and consequently he is shouting at me (not  realising 
  75. the volume of his own voice!). I must admit that K-Klass's picture 
  76. looks  damn fine - even in mono!  I've got Maggie running fine  on 
  77. the  Falcon,  although  you don't get to hear the Big  Alec  tune. 
  78. Still,  as most of the articles are catered towards Falcon owners, 
  79. it  is  desirable that it does run on this machine!  I don't  know 
  80. what I'm supposed to write in this little read_me type file -  I'm 
  81. no  Richard Karsmakers (as you may have gathered by  reading  this 
  82. far). Let's have a go

  84. It is dark.  It is night. It is the middle of the night and I have 
  85. drunk 4,000 cans of coke and ate 5 billion slices of Pizza in  the 
  86. writing of this sentence.

  88. There,  sounding  like a true coder already!  Now I've just got to 
  89. start calling non-coders lamers just to antagonise Andy Hutchinson 
  90. (ex) of ST Format (known as 'Hutch' to his friends). Thank god for 
  91. Paula 'Abdul' Richards (or whatever her name is).  Speaking of the 
  92. legendary magazine,  where the hell is it? We are steaming through 
  93. the  month  of September without its release.  Chris and I took  a 
  94. trip around the local villages and towns today and there wasn't  a 
  95. decent ST mag in sight. In fact, there weren't any ST mags about - 
  96. just Super NES and Megadrive rubbish.

  98. Another  exciting thing happen on this outing - it  rained  (quite 
  99. heavily actually). British life - you can't beat it.
  100.  
  101. Chris has decided to play the 'blood money' and 'sanxion'  modules 
  102. on  my  Falcon.  Quite why,  I'm not sure but I'm sure there is  a 
  103. perfectly  rational explanation.  Chris has just informed me  that 
  104. there isn't.  'It sounds horrible' is the comment I'm getting (and 
  105. it  does  even  five  feet  from  the  speaker.)  "ARE  THIS  CRAP 
  106. HEADPHONES  OR WOT?" Bellows Chris waking up the  neighbourhood  - 
  107. again not realising the volume of his voice.

  109. The word 'padding' springs to mind.

  111. Are nights dark these days?  Or is that just something people tell 
  112. me in pubs....I can't be sure...
  113.  
  114. Sanxion  50khz  style is being played now ....  it's still not  as 
  115. good as Mad Max's version in the Big Demo (those were the days).
  116. Sanxion fades slowly into the distance .... what juicy module will 
  117. be  dredged  up next?  (I dread to think).  Oh dear....it's  'Last 
  118. Ninja'.  Help.  Bring back the YM2149f,  all is forgiven! Don't US 
  119. Gold  have  great musicians?  Have you heard the fabulous tune  in 
  120. 'Legends of Valour' - it must have taken them hours to compose and 
  121. is  just  bursting  with melody.  Also it makes  the  game  falcon 
  122. incompatible,  but  that is a small price to pay for such an aural 
  123. delight.

  125. Chris is now listening to tune that I am sick to death of (I  used 
  126. it in one of my Falcon intros...). Now the Falcon is attempting to 
  127. emulate 'Depeche Mode' (and succeeding!)

  129. Oh  dear  ....  Red  Dream ...  aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh   (anyone  who 
  130. attended  the  Lemmings  'in the middle  of  nowhere  party'  will 
  131. sympathise with these statements).

  133. Chris has threatened to dig out some of his own modules ....  time 
  134. for a sharp exit ....

  138. Back again and really stuck for something to say that will fill up 
  139. the  last  20-odd  K or so on the  disk...  The  really  contrived 
  140. attempts to generate a 'party atmosphere' by the last writer  Pele 
  141. have  not  helped,  and  now everything is shutting  down  into  a 
  142. longfaced sort of silence.. The champion sellotape wielder himself 
  143. looks  like he is getting ready for bed (*Pardon!*)...  So it only 
  144. remains for me to say..

  147. year....)

  149. Can  I be bothered with the so-so-predictable  "Joke"  file-ending 
  150. which goes on for another six months... I THINK NOT!!!!
